At 8:05 AM, my world solidified and then turned upside down. I received a phone call from the Student Life director of the Arava Institute of Environmental Studies, confirming my admission for the Fall 2010 semester! Those five minutes between the scheduled call time of 8 AM (3 PM Israel time) and the actual time my cell phone rang were possibly the most tense of my recent life. But now that I know I'm in, I can put the paperwork drama, stress, and anxious waiting here in the U.S.A. behind me, and focus on my future abode--Israel!
This blog will serve as my way of communicating everything (or almost everything) I experience, photograph, and think as I make the trip of a lifetime to one of the oldest and most historically important areas of the world to learn about the environment as a tool of peace.
